Here is a report from Sam about his recent Training Day at Bromley LTC organised by Peter Masters (Sergetti Business Development Manager – Europe, Partner) with help of Sergetti Player Ambassador Neil Pauffley and Sergetti Coaching Ambassador Matt Smith.
Hi Peter,
Thank you again for such a memorable day on Monday, I found it very beneficial to my tennis.
Here is my write up on the day…
‘On the 25th of March, I got the opportunity to train at Bromley Tennis Centre in Kent because of the kind people at Sergetti.
To start the day I played with a top professional player called Neil Pauffley. Neil hit one of the cleanest balls I have ever hit against, everything in his game was so smooth making his game look amazing. I even got some tips from Neil, telling me to watch the ball on contact more and bring my body weight through the ball. Thanks for hitting with me Neil!
Just after this session I played with Peter Masters from Sergetti. We played for 45 mins and played a practice match. Peter won 4-3 (7-4) it was great fun to play against him, he set me a challenge of trying to hit a tweener winner. I didn’t manage this but I did play one tweener during a point!
We then had some lunch and Peter told us the story about Marcus Willis’s run at Wimbledon when he got to play my idol Roger Federer in 2016. This was so inspiring, an experience I dream of in the future for my tennis. Peter even gave my Dad some tips for stringing my rackets using the Sergetti method which was really useful. Thank you for sorting this day for me.
In the afternoon session I got to train in a squad under the Head of high performance at Bromley Tennis centre Matt Smith. I trained with some top junior players from the Kent and South East area.
Matt and the players made me feel very welcome, Matt is one of the most energetic and inspiring coaches I have ever worked with. He was great and helped me out with my one handed backhand that I am developing (I switched in June last year following a period of being out for 6 months with an illness called HSP disease). The tip he gave me was to hit more in front and hit around the outside of the ball. This is something I will be working on when I am back training at my club Pershore Tennis Centre in Worcestershire with my coaches Jazzamay and Simon.
This day was amazing and will be one to remember, thanks to everyone at Bromley Tennis who made me feel so welcome on my training experience organised by Sergetti. Especially Neil, Matt and Peter #workhardplayhard #scienceofstringing #playbetterlonger #onwardsandupwards’
Best regards,
Sam Rayner.

“Since I have been using the Sergetti stringing method I have loved how my strings feel when I play. I have definitely felt an increase in my serve speed. I am sure this will help my tennis and results going forward.”
